Hi there! My name is Karis, the voice behind Global Footprints. I am a Third Culture Kid - someone who grew up between cultures, countries and continents. My story is a blend of suitcases, airport goodbyes, cultural mashups, and learning how to belong everywhere and nowhere all at once. 

I was born in Senegal, West Africa, raised in Niger, West Africa and now live in Greensboro, North Carolina. Missions are what took my family overseas and forever shaped my life and identity. Ever since I graduated highschool and moved to the US I have been longing for greater connection with the TCK community I know exists. I decided that instead of longing for something all day every day, I would create what I was longing for. 

I created this space as a home for fellow TCKs and globally-minded souls - a place to share stories, laugh over the chaos of culture shock, reflect on identity, and celebrate the beauty of a life lived across borders. Whether you’re a lifelong expat, a repatriated wanderer, or just curious about what it’s like to grow up between worlds, you’re welcome here.
